Cellular Components
In the body, cells communicate by detecting and responding to biochemical signals within their environment. Cellular components are biomolecules created by cells. These cellular components, including proteins like growth factors, act as signals within the body.2-3 More specifically, cellular components can help to support and supplement fluid environments like synovial joints, tendons, and wound exudate. Ascent does not incorporate viable cells; Ascent instead captures naturally occurring cellular signaling components in an injectable solution.
Ascent is a product of StimLabs, LLC. StimLabs is dedicated to providing only the safest, highest quality products. Ascent is donated human tissue received from consenting full-term C-section mothers. All donors are individually evaluated by the StimLabs Quality Assurance Unit for eligibility. All donors are screened for communicable diseases, and a thorough medical history review is completed by the StimLabs Medical Director, a board-certified pathologist with over 20 years of experience in determining donor eligibility.
StimLabs is registered with the FDA as a tissue bank and meets or exceeds all applicable regulatory requirements for tissue banks. StimLabs has also met the rigorous accreditation requirements of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), and is accredited for processing, release, storage, distribution and donor eligibility assessment of birth tissue.

Selectify is the proprietary method for processing Ascent. It begins with the selection of a variety of cell types called amniocytes. Once these desired cell types have been isolated, the remaining fluid is centrifuged to remove any undesirable components and purified using highly specialized filtration to retain a large group of key cellular components while also removing salts and other unnecessary molecules. The purified group of components includes proteins, growth factors, cytokines, and hyaluronic acid molecules that are beneficial for the reduction of inflammation and supplementation of nutrient deficient fluid environments.
The cells selected from the amniotic fluid during the first part of processing are recombined with the purified cellular components to create a concentrated solution that is preserved using lyophilization. The powder is then packaged and terminally sterilized.
